One of the challenges when designing a portable cricket scoreboard is fitting enough information onto a display without making the scoreboard excessively large.
Rotating information provides one solution.
Instead of dedicating one panel to Runs, another to Wickets and another to Overs, the same LED display can show each value sequentially.
Our rotating models typically show each value for approximately two seconds.
Why Is This Useful?
The complete display area can be used for the current piece of information.
This allows larger characters than would be possible if the same panel were divided into several small sections.
It also reduces the number of LED panels required.
Several Configurations Are Possible
A 64 × 32 cm model rotates Runs, Wickets and Overs without a Target display.
A 64 × 48 cm version combines the rotating main display with a separate Target panel.
Compact 32 × 32 cm versions are also available.
Rotating displays therefore allow scoreboard designers to trade continuous visibility of every statistic for reduced physical size and improved portability.
For many community-level games, that can be a worthwhile compromise.
